Frequently Asked Questions
What are the rules?
- Guesses must be submitted no later than 5 minutes prior to the start of any race.
- If guesses are not submitted in time, participants will receive zero points for that race. Guesses from the previous race will not be applied to the current race.
- “First Out” will be calculated based upon the official FIA ranking results listing the driver as DNF in last place.
- You must select a driver for a first out guess.
- You can select the same driver for both P10 and first out.
- You may change your driver guesses as many times as you like prior to the submission cutoff time.
How are the points calculated?
The goal is to pick the driver who will come in 10th. That generates the highest point total. The further your guess is away (positive or negative) from P10, the less your points value is. Shown below is the breakdown of those points.
Position |
Point Total |
Position |
Point Total |
P1 | 1 | P2 | 2 |
P3 | 3 | P4 | 4 |
P5 | 5 | P6 | 6 |
P7 | 7 | P8 | 8 |
P9 | 9 | P10 | 10 |
P11 | 9 | P12 | 8 |
P13 | 7 | P14 | 6 |
P15 | 5 | P16 | 4 |
P17 | 3 | P18 | 2 |
P19 | 1 | P20 | 0 |
What happens if no driver fails to finish the race?
If no driver fails to finish the race, the only points that will be awarded will be those for the P10 driver guess based upon the point matrix above.
What happens if my first out pick fails to start the race?
If your first out driver selection fails to start the race, it is not counted as DNF.
Additional Tips & Strategy
- Driver Form and Reliability – Research recent race results, driver form, and team reliability. Certain teams or drivers might struggle with reliability, making them good choices for First Out predictions.
- Weather and Track Conditions – Pay attention to weather forecasts and track characteristics, as certain conditions increase the likelihood of retirements, which can impact First Out selections.
- Review Starting Grid and Qualifying Results – The starting grid often influences race results, with midfield drivers commonly finishing around P10. Analyzing qualifying sessions and starting positions can be beneficial in making your P10 guess.
- Change Guesses Strategically – You can adjust your predictions up until 5 minutes before the race, so stay updated with any last-minute news, driver changes, or potential penalties that may influence race dynamics.
